A careful reading of the Bible reveals a very important key to the ministry through Jesus and His disciples involved saying and doing, word and deed, teaching and healing, proclaiming and serving. There is a dynamic when words are matched with deeds.  You’ll notice throughout the book of Acts that the apostles persuaded others with their words and amazed them through their works.  The power of God is intertwined through the Word and works in our lives.

Consider some of these events recorded for us. They are amazing!

Matthew 9:35 (NKJV) Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Luke 9:1–2 (NKJV) Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Luke 9:11 (NKJV) But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

Acts 8:6–8 (NKJV) And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.

At times you may feel overwhelmed with the direction this world is headed. How do we reach the lost, especially since they truly want nothing to do with Christianity.  We are facing things in these last days that are discouraging and difficult to understand but so are your neighbors and coworkers.

As a disciple of Christ, you’re not alone. The Holy Spirit is within you ready to enable to say, and do the Word.

When a neighbor hears the word and sees it, there is a new fresh openness to receive the gospel of Jesus. When a community sees and hears the Word, there is a supernaturally given desire to want to know more about the God behind the word and works.

Tell someone and serve someone. Watch how God will use you.
